I have had an interesting week say the least on Wednesday night I was hit with a flu or food poisoning and it knocked me out all night long there was no sleeping and I spent a good portion of the night in the bathroom. I was in rough shape. As soon as a decent hour hit, I called a friend and took Aaron to her and myself to the hospital. I couldn't keep anything down I felt so dehydrated I wanted IV fluids. I couldn't keeping anything down, not water, diluted apple juice or Gravol. It wasn't fun. Let me tell you.
I never made it inside the doors of the ER. When I got to ER, the triage nurses weren't assessing anybody and had a list of people sitting just waiting to be checked in, not even in the waiting area to get in behind the doors. I had screw this moment, and decided to go home and take my chances.
Knowing that I was going to the hospital, I traveled light. I took my drivers license, Care Card (health card) and debit card. I wrapped and elastic band around them and threw them in a little make-up bag along with my Carmex. I had that along with my keys and cell phone. After I had my screw this moment, I walked to my car in the parkade and called my friend to check in on Aaron. In the short walk to my carI manage to lose my cards. I realised this as I was pulling up to the parkade and I had no way to pay the attendant. I was in tears at this point. I was more than 24 hours without sleep, dehydrated and without ID.
The attendant was a first class a-hole who told me that I am grown up and need to act like a grown up. I couldn't barely sputter out the words that I lost my debit card, all he would say was they don't take debit and to go the the ATM in the hospital to get cash. I was a mess.
Too make a long story short, I retraced my steps, came up fruitless, my friend showed up at the hospital without me asking her to and she had cash so I could pay. While we walked back to my car, I was looking in the stalls for my cards when a man in van asked me if I was looking for something and I said my ID. He said me name. Turns out he found it and turned it into information. God Bless him. That was one less headache I had to deal with. I got myself some Gatorade manage to keep it down and came home and rested. My aunt showed up as she was on her way over for a visit (the timing couldn't have been better!) she helped me out a lot. I am feeling better and Aaron is off. Agh.
The poor boy threw up last night after I put him to bed. After a quick bath and change of bedding he woke up once and I gave him some Gatorade and slept until I woke him up this morning. He hardly ate anything at all today and had a 4 hour nap! I was worried so I woke him up and he woke up happy and ready to play. He wouldn't drink so I gave him a cup of Gatorade in a syringe. I don't know what is up with him bit he will drink anything out of syringe.
We went to the a walk-in clinic. I got antibiotics for my never ending sinus infection, and the doctor said he might get worse, but seeing how happy he's been playing I don't think he will.
------
In Aaron news, he used the potty two times in the course of one evening all on his own! I had him roaming diaper free and next thing I know is I look and there is pee in the potty. I missed it both times. Even though I was in the room. I praised him both times he was quite pleased with himself.
I've also enrolled him in swimming lessons we start next week. It was apparent he was ready for them when we were visiting my grandpa. It will be interesting, as most times when we go swimming he'd rather wander the pool deck than play in the water.

Sick?
The last 24 hours or so with Aaron have been the hardest that I've had in recent memory. I got 4 hours of sleep last night. Yesterday he got some sort of virus and was running a fever. It was 39.5 C at it's highest. I did take him to the walk-in clinic he figured it was viral. He was himself alternating with being extra whiny and fussy and he had a fever all day despite the Advil and Tylenol I alternated. Then he vomited at 6:30 promptly after we got home. That threw me into worry mode. He hadn't drank much at all and I was worried about dehydration. I didn't want a repeat of the last time.
He crashed at 730 or 8 and I thought he was down for the night. Which was so not the case. He woke up at midnight and didn't get back to sleep until 4am! Yes my toddler was awake 4 hours in the middle of the night, and he only slept till 8am. Mama got less than 4 hours of sleep. (Had we been at home, I would've closed the door to his room and put some toys in his crib and let him play by himself after all his needs were met.)
Today was hard, he was ornery, refused to nap and had many meltdowns. By 230pm I was done. I couldn't wait for my dad to get home from work. I thought a nap was in sight... but alas no it would not be. My dad, God love him, can't keep Aaron quiet (he offered me a nap) leaves doors open so I can hear him and can't keep him from going up the stairs to open the door to my room.
To say that I was frustrated today would be putting it mildly. I think we will be going back home soon, as much as I like being over here, we need to go home. I will be starting a math course in 2 weeks time (GOD HELP ME) and need to get us on a routine.
Since Aaron refused to nap, we decided to take him to an indoor climbing place. The first place we tried closed at 6pm and wanted to only give us a 10% discount for half an hour of play. I didn't think so. We ended up going to another place. Poor Aaron was sobbing his eyes out when he realized he wouldn't be playing there I felt terrible, like I was teasing him but we were on our way to another play place, he just didn't understand that. Thank GOD for indoor play places they're a dime a dozen over here unlike the one pitiful one we have in Victoria. The weather turned to shit over night and fall has made her appearance.
So our day ended on a high note with a fun time playing with Aaron, and a an excellent supper inspired by Shannon.
Today is day I hope not to repeat anytime soon.

Sick and Tired
*Advice needed*
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired! Last week around my birthday Aaron was teething and had a pretty high fever. Yet no teeth popped through and he never had an ear infection. We had 2 1/2 nights of hell and as a result I got worn down and got a sore throat, aches and pains and a snotty head cold which isn't unusual pour moi. I thought some R&R and plenty of fluids would cure me. Nope. So I caved after and after a week and a half of nonsense I went to the doctor. Antibiotics it is. The dr. said I had a red throat (WTF does that mean) and he didn't swab it until I made him. I know I have a sinus infection but if I have strep I want to know. For all I know Aaron has it too.
Onto Aaron now. On his birthday I had to cart him to the local walk-in clinic as I noticed a pussy eye. He has cunjuntivitis aka pink eye. I have no idea where he got it. We haven't been around other kids with the exception of the play area on the ferry. This blows. I can't have him around other kids. We have 2 birthday party's this weekend. A friend's and his own! *Calling all parents or care givers to small children* Does anyone know how to put eye oinment in a baby's eye? The dr. said to pull down his lower lid and put it in. Easier said than done. As in not.freakin.possible. I have to put it on my finger and sorta rub it thru his eyes lashes as he closes his eye and starts to cry. I wonder how long this wll last for?
Aaron also had a cold to boot. A runny snotty nose and coughinhg. I guess it back to the doctor's. He knows when we go there now he will be poked and proded and cries. he will scream when the doctor comes into the examing room. Sorry bud!

I'm Ashamed...
Of Canada's criminal justice system for this reason. Yet again they have failed society. If you clicked on the link it's a story of a mother who killed her 12 year old daughter in cold blood. Thus equalling first degree murder. She plead guilty to a lesser offence of second degree murder instead. I don't know how the Crown (prosecution) could so this. They had a confession and out of the mother and yet they still didn't proceed with the trial. Was it to save money? It's sick sick sick. The mother got a life sentence with the possibility of parole in 20 years, possibly 15 years under some fucking clause. She should never see the light of day again. It's people like this that deserve the death penalty which Canada has abolished. This is one thing America has right. The stupid cunt killed her daughter as she chose her boyfriend over her daughter. As he told her to chose between him and her daughter. I think we can safely assume he didn't mean to murder her in cold blood. She did have a dad she could've gone to live with. It would've fucked her up emotionally but she still would've had her life. I fucking hate people like this. It's the same as Susan Smith who got life, and should've been executed her killing her beautiful babies and lying about it. I'd love to see those 2 in room with the general population of a prison.
